Woman says she was injured stepping off a New Orleans streetcar

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she was was injured when a streetcar didn't give her time to get off.

Erica Fultz filed a lawsuit June 1 against John Doe, Regional Transit Authority of New Orleans, Veolia Transportation Maintenance and Infrastructure Inc. and Transdev Services Inc. and Old Republic General Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which took place on June 5, 2017 when the plaintiff was a passenger on the defendant's streetcar when the defendant continued to drive as the plaintiff exited the streetcar, causing her to fall.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney John Sileo in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern Reese.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-5461.
