Customer accuses Save-A-Lot of negligence in slip-and-fall case

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she slipped and fell because of a puddle at a Save-A-Lot in Baton Rouge.

Darnika Montana filed a lawsuit June 29 against Moran Foods LLC, doing business as Save-A-Lot Ltd., and Gallagher Bassett Services Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Montana is seeking damages for an incident that occurred on Nov. 21, 2017 when she allegedly slipped and fell on a puddle that had been come from a produce pallet.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and all appropriate relief. She is represented by John Young in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.
