QBE Americas named in lawsuit stemming from uncovered drain

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages after she was injured in a fall from an uncovered drain.

Alexa Salomone filed a lawsuit Feb. 24 against Anne Jordan Blanton and QBE Americas Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 10, 2017 when the plaintiff was at the defendant's property. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when she was caused to step in an uncovered drain that was not marked.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Louis Gertler of Gertler Law Firm LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher Bruno.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-1730.
