GRETNA – The University of New Orleans is seeking payment of nearly $900 allegedly owed by a former student.
The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through the University of New Orleans, filed a lawsuit July 10 against Tewanda James in the 24th Judicial District Court.
According to the complaint, the university is seeking damages for an open account with a balance of $889.01, plus interest..
The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. It is represented by Amy Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.
The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.
