Target customer accuses store of negligence following wheelchair accident

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages after claiming that he was thrown from a wheelchair in a Target store.

Oliver Joseph Jr. filed a lawsuit July 13 against Target Corp. of Minnesota and Esplanade Mall Realty Holding LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on July 14, 2017. The suit alleges that Joseph was injured because his wheelchair got stuck on uneven concrete at the store, which caused him to be thrown from the chair.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. He is represented by Travis Turner of Turner Law Firm LLC in Gonzales.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott Schlegel.
