GRETNA – A woman is suing former employer Rooms to Go Louisiana Corp., alleging that the company unfairly terminated her because of her age.

Laura Stone filed a lawsuit July 10 in the 24th Judicial District Court.

According to the claim, Stone was told on May 19 that she was being fired because she violated the company's social media policy. Stone claims had not violated the policy but had simply posted her work schedule on Facebook. She said was fired after a disgruntled co-worker complained about the post months later.

The defendant is accused of age discrimination and unfair termination of employment.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. She is represented by William Turner III in Harvey.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
