University of New Orleans claims former student owes more than $3,500

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans is seeking more than $3,500 allegedly owed by a former student on an open account.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, through the University of New Orleans, filed a lawsuit July 9 against Kristan Elise Ford in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account with a balance of $3,566.75, plus interest, claiming that the defendant has failed to pay off the amount due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney's fees and other appropriate relief. It is represented by Amy Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius Regan.
