Injured customer accuses Walmart of negligence

GRETNA – A woman is blaming Walmart for an alleged slip-and-fall incident.

Shameaka Jenkins filed a lawsuit July 26 against Walmart Louisiana LLC and/or Walmart Stores Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Jenkins is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on July 27, 2017. The plaintiff alleges that Walmart knew there was a slippery substance on the ground before she fell.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney's fees and court costs. She is represented by Laura Kambur of the Kambur Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
