State seeks civil damages in alleged drug possession case

GRETNA – The State of Louisiana is seeking damages after discovering drugs in the possession of a woman.

The State of Louisiana filed a suit Aug. 1 against Cherie Thonn in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging possession of an illegal substance.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages after discovering that the defendant was in possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and Xanax.

The defendant is accused of possession of an illegal substance.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by David Wheeler in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 786225.
