Parking lot collision leads to lawsuit against Jefferson Parish

GRETNA –– A resident accuses Jefferson Parish and an employee of injuries related to a car accident.

Debbie A. Dyer filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Clinton "C.J." Gibson, Jefferson Parish Government, the Jefferson Parish Department of Parks and Recreation and the Jefferson Parish Department of Risk Management. 

According to the complaint, Gibson backed into Dyer with a city owned vehicle in the parking lot of a credit union. Dyer claims she suffered multiple injuries, including to her head and neck. She accuses the defendants of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by Brian G. Birdsall in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
