State disaster agency seeks $133,000 for grant payback

GRETNA –– Two homeowners face a lawsuit for not complying with a disaster grant.

The Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Sept. 14 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Odette Frances Anderson and Eddie Lee Anderson.

According to the complaint, the homeowners did not comply with a disaster recovery grant. The plaintiff alleges the homeowners owe $133,384.20, plus interest.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
