University of New Orleans sues over student's alleged $1,500 debt

NEW ORLEANS –– A university student faces a lawsuit over allegedly not paying all of her tuition and fees.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through University of New Orleans filed a complaint on Sept. 19 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Colleen Elizabeth Harrigan.

According to the complaint, the defendant failed to pay off an outstanding balance of $1,548 plus interest.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Amy Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge D. Nicole Sheppard.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 18-9443.
