GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages for allegedly being rear-ended by a sheriff's office employee.

Katherine N. Riley filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Matthew L. Thomas and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due, alleging that the defendant was driving on Oct. 2, 2017 when the plaintiff was struck by the defendant who was driving and rear-ended the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Smith of The Law Office of John Smith in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott Schlegel.
