Man seeks damages following a fall in a Dollar Tree store

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages for a slip and fall in a Dollar Tree. 

Demetrial Nelson filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Dollar Tree Stores Inc.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 14, 2017 when the plaintiff was in the Dollar Tree at 3771 General De Gaulle Drive. The plaintiff alleges the defendant was negligent and caused the plaintiff to slip and fall on a substance that was on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Justin Chopin of The Chopin Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette Irons.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-10319.
