Woman sues Forever 21 after she's allegedly injured while shopping for shoes

GRETNA – A shopper is seeking damages for an injury she allegedly suffered at Forever 21. 

Toinette Reeves filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Forever 21 Retail Inc. and ACE Insurance Co. of the Midwest. 

The plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident on Nov. 19, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was looking for shoes at the defendant's store, and asked for help reaching some shoes on a top rack. 

A clerk allegedly used a long pole to reach the shoes and when the clerk reached down to pick up the shoes that had fallen to the ground, the plaintiff was struck in the face with the pole, resulting in injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Joseph F. LaHatte III of LaHatte Law Firm LLC in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
