Delgado Community College says former student owes over $800

NEW ORLEANS – A community college is seeking damages for sums due.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Megan X. Cooper.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due that were accumulated while the defendant was attending the plaintiff's institution. During the defendant's attendance in the Spring 2012 semester, the defendant accumulated a balance owed of $883.50 plus interest. Despite amicable demand, the defendant has failed to pay the plaintiff for services rendered.

The defendant is accused of sums due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper Griffin.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-11354.
