Communications company accuses cruise ship operator of nonpayment

GRETNA –– A cruise ship company faces a lawsuit over the alleged nonpayment of services from a satellite communications provider.

Marlink As filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Great Northern & Southern Navigation Company LLC French American Line.

According to the complaint, the defendant failed to pay an outstanding balance of $70,476.07 for equipment and services provided by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Thomas J. Lutkewitte of Favret, Demarest, Russo, Lutkewitte & Schaumburg in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
