Delgado Community College claims student owes over $700 after attending the institution and failing to pay

NEW ORLEANS – A community college alleges that a student has been negligent in paying a debt.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a complaint on Nov. 26 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Elen Savory.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay off the balance of $781 plus interest in the amount of 33.33 percent. The plaintiff claims that despite amicable demand, the defendant has not paid the debt.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by Jessie Cannon of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin Giarrusso.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2018-11781.
