Man claims ball from Treasure Chest Casino's roulette wheel fractured his eye socket

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages alleging that the ball from a roulette wheel fractured his eye socket.

Barkev Garabedian filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Treasure Chest Casino LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Oct. 5 when the plaintiff was a customer at the defendant's property in the city of Kenner. The suit states the plaintiff was injured when the operator of the roulette wheel caused the roulette ball to fly out of the wheel, hitting the plaintiff in the eye and fracturing his eye socket. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to take the necessary actions to prevent the injury from taking place.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to take the necessary action to prevent an incident.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jim Hall of Jim S. Hall & Associates in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge John Glenn Ansardi.
