Man who was allegedly attacked in a bar seeks damages

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages after he alleges he was assaulted by an individual in a bar.

Keith L. Landry filed a complaint on Dec. 17 in the 24th Judicial District Court against The Club House Bar & Grill Inc., Herbert Clayton Buras III and John Doe.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Dec. 21, 2017 when the plaintiff was at The Club House Bar & Grill. The suit states the plaintiff was injured when he was punched by an individual in the venue. The plaintiff claims he was caused to receive emergency medical attention, including having multiple staples used to close the head wound.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to take the necessary actions to prevent injury.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Christy Howley of Bowman & Howley in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael Mentz.
