Disaster Recovery Unit claims couple misused a $37,500 government grant

GRETNA –The State of Louisiana alleges that a couple failed to use a government grant for the designed purposes.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Jan. 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Shelia Coslan and John Coslan.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on a government grant. The suit states the defendant was given a grant that was lent for the purpose of elevating their home. The defendant has, however, allegedly failed to provide proof of making the improvements to the home and is now indebted for the amount of $37,500 in sums due.

The defendant is accused of sums due on a government grant.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 791174.
