Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard issued the following announcement on Jan. 9.

Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard is pleased to announce the addition of Todd Crawford, who joins the New Orleans headquarters as an of counsel attorney. Crawford brings a wealth of litigation experience to the firm’s admiralty and maritime practice, and he will continue to service clients along the Gulf Coast as he manages the firm’s newly opened Gulfport, Mississippi office.

Previously, Crawford was a partner of Fowler Rodriguez. In addition to maritime law, he specializes in insurance coverage analysis, personal injury, environmental compliance, contractual indemnity and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice law in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Illinois and New York.

Crawford earned a chemistry degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1987 and a law degree from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1990. Since then, he has handled a wide range of complex litigation, including toxic exposures, marine disasters and catastrophic oilfield blowouts. He has represented clients in state and federal courts across the Gulf Coast, and along the Mississippi and Ohio rivers.

His experience covers all aspects of general maritime law, including arrests and attachments, cargo claims, limitation of liability, charter disputes, collisions and allisions. His work in personal injury defense has involved claims under the Jones Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, as well as passenger claims under general maritime law.

He has litigated cases involving marine insurance coverages, hull, bumbershoot, builder’s risk hull coverages and special coverages provided by the London marine market. In addition, Crawford has expertise with reviewing, drafting and implementing master service agreements, charter parties, leases and construction contracts, contractual indemnity and insurance provisions.

Crawford’s work has been recognized by Super Lawyers, and he is a member of the Southeast Admiralty Law Institute, the Maritime Law Association and the Defense Research Institute.

“We’re happy to have Todd aboard our team,” says Lugenbuhl managing partner Stewart Peck. “He has a wealth of knowledge across several crucial sectors of maritime law and personal injury defense, and I know he’ll be an invaluable resource for our clients.”
