Disaster Recovery Unit seeks $37,500 on unpaid grant

GRETNA – The State of Louisiana alleges that a resident owes $37,500 on an unpaid grant.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint on Jan. 11 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Ronnie Lewis.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on a government grant. The suit states the defendant was given a grant to make certain repairs to his property. The suit states, however, that the defendant failed to provide proof of those repairs and now is indebted for the total of the grant which is $37,500 in sums due.

The defendant is accused of sums due on a government grant.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 791185.
