Plaintiff claims he slipped on ice in a Crowne Plaza Hotel

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, alleging he was caused to slip and fall on some ice at a hotel.

Delbert Housewright filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Crown Plaza Hotel, New Orleans Hotel Collection LLC, Interstate Management Co. LLC, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 17, 2018, when the plaintiff was a guest at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The suit states the plaintiff was trying to walk down the hallway when he slipped on ice and was caused to fall and injure his knee.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to prevent an incident from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Tania Wells of Peoples Legal LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
