Woman names Clearview Mall in slip and fall lawsuit

NEW ORLEANS – A woman alleges she was caused to slip and fall in a mall due to negligence of management. 

Melanie Davis filed a complaint on Jan. 11 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Rockhill Insurance Co., Associated Building Services LLC and SC Clearview Mall LC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 9, 2018 when the plaintiff was at 4436 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie. While walking through the mall, the plaintiff claims she was caused to slip and fall on an unmarked puddle of cleaning solution, causing her to be injured as a result.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an injury from taking place.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by Brian King of The King Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper Griffin.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case No. is 2019-413.
