Man claims he tripped over a Bellsouth anchor protruding from the ground

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages, alleging he was caused to trip over a Bellsouth anchor that was protruding from the ground.

Geoffrey Alston filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC and Entergy Louisiana.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Jan. 21, 2018, when the plaintiff was walking from his car to an apartment at 69 Jaqueline St. in Harvey. The plaintiff allegedly was caused to trip and fall on an anchor that was left sticking out of the ground, resulting in injuries to the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to prevent an incident from taking place.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Robert Haik of Haik & Haik Law Offices in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle Taylor.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 791290.
