Delgado Community College files lawsuit seeking over $1,500

GRETNA – A community college alleges it is owed more than $1,500.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Tomasena Slaughter.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account. The suit states the defendant has failed to pay a balance of $1,502. The suit states that despite amicable demand, the defendant has failed to pay off the balance owed.

The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jessie Cannon of Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen Grefer.
