Woman files lawsuit stating she slipped and fell in a Walmart store

GRETNA – A woman alleges she was caused to slip and fall in a Walmart store due to a dangerous situation that had not been cleaned up.

Thelma Curry filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Walmart Louisiana LLC.

According to the complaint, on June 29, 2018, when Curry was at the Walmart at 8912 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie, she was caused to slip and fall on a substance that had been left without a warning sign or proper cleaning.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failing to prevent an incident.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Stephen Harris Jr. of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee Faulkner Jr.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case No. is 791526.
