Barclays customer named in lawsuit over $4,000 debt

GRETNA – Barclays Bank Delaware is seeking more than $4,000 from an allegedly negligent customer who has failed to pay off the balance.

The bank filed a complaint against Antonio G. Mares on Feb. 1 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff states that the defendant has failed to pay off an open account for the balance of $4,006.18 plus interest. The plaintiff has made amicable demand to the defendant, the suit claims, but has not received payment.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. Barclays is represented by Paul S. Brennan of Couch, Conville & Blitt LLC in Metairie.


The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
