State of Louisiana seeks more than $30,000 from an allegedly misused grant

GRETNA – The state of Louisiana is seeking more than $30,000 in sums due on a grant it claims was improperly used.

State of Louisiana Division of Administration Office of Community Development Disaster Recovery Unit filed a complaint against Trang Huynh and Trang Huynh Ngoc on Feb. 7 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account.

The suit states that the plaintiff loaned the defendants a grant to be used to repair their home, but the grant was misused and now the plaintiff is seeking $30,000 in sums due. The defendant is accused of sums due on an open account.


The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
