Car accident 09

GRETNA – A motorist is seeking damages for a crash he claims was the result of faulty electrical work performed on his vehicle.

Marques Neal filed a complaint against Extreme Car Audio LLC and American Thrift & Finance Plan LLC on Feb. 7 in the 24th Judicial District Court. The plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident he claims took place on August 23, 2018, when he was driving a 2011 Acura on I-10 in Jefferson Parish. The suit states that the plaintiff's vehicle shut off and the plaintiff lost control of the vehicle, crashing and suffering injuries. The plaintiff is claiming that the defendant did an inferior job of the electrical work in the car, causing the engine to falter.

The defendant is accused of negligence and reckless driving. The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. Neal is represented by Bryan K. Jefferson of Foley, Lamy and Jefferson in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan.
