NEW ORLEANS – A man has named New Orleans Regional Transit Authority in a lawsuit seeking damages related to an injury he claims he suffered onboard a ferry.

Paul A. Hollow filed his complaint on Feb. 10 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, naming Transdev Services Inc. in addition to transit authority. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Feb. 13, 2018, when he was a passenger on a ferry being operated by the defendants. The suit states that the seat Hollow was sitting on fell backwards, causing him to be injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an incident from taking place. The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. Hollow is represented by attorney Ryan F. LaPorte of LaPorte Law Office LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
