Woman sues couple, claiming a cabinet struck her on the head

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claiming that she was injured when a cabinet fell and struck her on the head is suing the owners of the property where the incident took place.

Rochell Cummings filed a complaint against Mark E. Farruga, Gina Farruga and Chubb Customer Insurance Company on Feb. 15 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court. According to the complaint, the plaintiff states that on Feb. 27, 2018, Cummings was at the defendant's property at 2653 Robert E. Lee Blvd., New Orleans, when a cabinet fell down and struck her on the head.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to prevent an incident from taking place. The plaintiff, represented by attorney George H. Jones in Metairie, seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief.


The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
