Hancock Whitney sues woman, alleging $23,000 mortgage debt

GRETNA – Hancock Whitney Bank is seeking more than $23,000 in sums it alleges a woman owes on her unpaid mortgage.

The bank filed a complaint against Marcia Warner on Feb. 20 in the 24th Judicial District Court. According to the lawsuit, Hancock Whitney Bank states that the defendant has failed to pay off the balance of $23,040.24 plus interest, claiming that Warner was negligent for the balance owed. The defendant is accused of sums due on an unpaid mortgage.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. Hancock Whitney Bank is represented by Clay J. Legros of Newman, Mathis, Brady & Spedale in Metairie.


The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
