Suit alleges driver's negligence damaged Entergy facility

GRETNA – An energy company is suing several parties, alleging that a negligent driver caused property damage by pulling down power lines.

Entergy Louisiana LLC filed a complaint on April 3 in the 24th Judicial District Court against Frozen Food Express, Anton Smith, Transport Risk Solutions, Bellsouth Telecommunications Inc., dba AT&T Louisiana, and Cox Communications Louisiana LLC. According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on April 19, 2018 when defendant Smith was driving north on Trefaney Ave. in Metairie. 

The plaintiff was caused to suffer damages when the truck the defendant was driving snagged the power lines, caused damages to the plaintiff's facilities. The defendants are accused of negligence.


The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. Entergy Louisiana LLC is represented by W. Scott Brown in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr.
