Taylor Porter estate planning and tax attorney Rebecca Hinton has been appointed President of the Estate & Business Planning Council of Baton Rouge. Hinton formerly served as Vice President.

The members of the Council are accountants, attorneys, life underwriters, trust officers and educators with an interest in estate planning and a commitment to high professional and ethical standards. The Council meets quarterly to exchange information and ideas about estate planning and to hear presentations on important estate planning topics. The Council is also one of 280 local estate planning councils affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC).

Practicing law since 2006, Hinton represents individuals and businesses in the areas of trust and estates/estate planning; taxation; successions; tax-exempt organizations; corporate matters; and tax controversies. Hinton is ranked by her peers among the Best Lawyers in America (2020, 2021) in trusts and estates and tax law. She is an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and frequently presents at CLE and other seminars on the topics of federal estate and gift taxation, estate planning, and federal taxation. In her estate planning and administration practice, Hinton assists clients with the preparation of their personal estate planning documents, ranging from traditional wills and powers of attorney to establishing large scale trusts, family limited liability companies, and long-term gifting plans to lessen Federal estate and gift tax exposure. She also supports clients in administering successions.

Hinton is a member of the 2021 Class of BRAC (Baton Rouge Area Chamber) Leadership Baton Rouge. In the community, she is a board member of the nonprofit SportsBR, and she is the director of the nonprofit, Center for Emotional Healing.
