NEW ORLEANS - Margaret Chastain filed a complaint on July 12 in St. Bernard Parish District Court against New Orleans Paddlewheels for personal injury.

According to the complaint, on March 4, 2020, Chastain was a passenger on the M/V Creole Queen owned and operated by New Orleans Paddlewheels. While aboard, the vessel was going down the Mississippi River to the Chalmette Battlefield when an announcement was made that the ship was preparing to dock.

Upon preparing to dock, Chastain was headed to the bar, when the ship jolted and allegedly caused her to lose her balance and tumble down the stairs and strike her head and other parts of her body.

Chastain is represented by Scott E. Silbert. The defendant recently removed the case to New Orleans federal court.
