Louisiana Governor's Office issued the following announcement on Dec. 16.
Gov. Edwards released a statement after the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget and the State Bond Commission approved a financing deal to bring improvements to the New Orleans Superdome.
Gov. Edwards said:
“Today is a great day not only for the city of New Orleans and the Saints, but for Louisiana and its economy. I am grateful to the Louisiana Legislature for working collaboratively with the Saints organization, the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District and my administration to make sure the Superdome renovations can move forward to keep the stadium – and the city of New Orleans – competitive and the Saints right here where they belong.”
