NEW ORLEANS - A former employee has filed a $6 million negligence lawsuit against Rodi Marine claiming failure to provide a safe work environment aboard the M/V MISS PEGGY ANN resulted in him sustaining severe injuries.
Plaintiff Connor M. Prigmore filed a lawsuit in federal court against Rodi Marine and Rodi Marine Management citing allegations of negligence.
According to court documents, Prigmore is a former employee of the defendants and claims he was injured on the job. Prigmore claims the unseaworthy condition of the M/V MISS PEGGY ANN, a vessel owned and operated by the defendants, led to the accident.
In his lawsuit, Prigmore alleges the negligence on the part of the defendants in providing a safe working environment, citing lack of necessary equipment, inadequate safety measures, and unseaworthy conditions on the vessel.
Prigmore claims that as a result of the defendant's negligence, he has sustained injuries to his head, neck, shoulder, low back, right hip, and right leg injuries, along with persistent headaches.
Prigmore is seeking a judgement for $6,000,000 for damages for physical and mental pain, lost wages, medical expenses, loss of enjoyment of life, other related damages, plus court costs and attorneys fees. Additionally, he asserts a claim for maintenance and cure under the general maritime law, demanding appropriate compensation and benefits. The plaintiff is represented in this case by attorney Thomas M. Discon of the Discon Law Firm in Mandeville.
