Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce Stacey C.S. Cerrone has been inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC). Fellows have demonstrated a sustained commitment to the development and pursuit of public awareness and understanding of the law of employee benefits and have at least 20 years of experience as an employee benefits practitioner.
“Stacey is a talented attorney and we are delighted that she has received this special honor in recognition of her innumerable achievements, said Co-Leaders of the firm’s ERISA Complex Litigation group Howard Shapiro and René E. Thorne, in a joint statement. “She exemplifies the highest levels of integrity and dedication to the law and we are honored to have Stacey as a colleague. We congratulate her on this significant accomplishment.”
Stacey is a principal and litigation manager in the firm’s New Orleans office, and serves as a core member of Jackson Lewis’ Employee Benefits and ERISA Complex Litigation teams. Her practice focuses on the defense of complex ERISA class actions filed against public and private single employer ERISA plan sponsors and fiduciaries, as well as multi-employer plans and fiduciaries and ERISA plan services providers. Stacey litigates a wide variety of class action claims, including 401(k) fee claims, stock drop claims, “church plan” and “government plan” claims, health and welfare plan claims, and ERISA Section 510 claims. She also litigates ERISA benefit claims and claims involving non-ERISA plans.
“It is an honor to be selected to join this group of accomplished attorneys,” said Stacey. “I am excited for the opportunity to work with the members of the ACEBC throughout the country to advance the ACEBC’s mission of promoting excellence in employee benefits law through public discourse of significant legal and social policy issues.”
Fellows of the ACEBC are selected by the College’s Board of Governors from among employee benefits attorneys nominated for that honor and recommended for consideration by the Board’s Membership Committee. Selection as a Fellow reflects the Board’s judgment that a nominee has made significant contributions to the advancement of the employee benefits field, demonstrated a sustained commitment to public understanding of employee benefits laws, and provided exceptionally high-quality professional services to clients, the bar and the public.
Stacey earned her J.D. from Tulane University Law School and her B.S. from Cornell University.
