A Florida woman says she was injured while shopping at a Walmart store in Harvey.
Joellen Rousse Lytle filed her complaint against Walmart in federal court.
According to the complaint, Lytle was shopping May 16, 2023, when she slipped and fell on a watery and gel-like substance on the floor while heading to the checkout. She claims a male employee who came to assist her admitted he was aware of the spill prior to her fall.
Lytle accuses Walmart and its employees of negligence for failing to maintain safe conditions, inspect and clean the floors, warn customers about potential hazards, train employees properly and implement effective policies and procedures. The lawsuit claims this negligence resulted in severe and disabling injuries to Lytle.
Lytle seeks compensatory damages.
