A former employee of Chevron Oronite says he was a victim of race, sex and age discrimination.
Aaron Richoux filed his complaint in federal court against Chevron Oronite Company.
According to the complaint, Richoux says Chevron Oronite's agents, employees, managers and/or supervisors discriminated against him due to his race (White/Caucasian), age (52) and sex (male) resulting in his termination. He claims this action violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967.
Richoux was employed by Chevron as a Lab Shift Team Lead within the Tech/Lab department at its Oak Point location in Belle Chasse. His direct supervisor was David Tullis who reported to Naomi Woodward.
Richoux also alleges his civil rights were violated under the laws of Louisiana, specifically citing the Louisiana Employment Discrimination Law.
Richoux had initially filed a Charge of Discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on June 7, 2023. Following this, the EEOC issued a Notice Right to Sue on September 6, 2023.
