An anesthesia provider accuses a medical facility of contract violations and unfair trade practices.

Apollo Medical Group of Lake Charles filed a federal lawsuit against the Joint Replacement Center of Louisiana and Dr. Elise Lofton. alleging the center breached its agreement by hiring Lofton, who previously was contracted by Apollo, to act as the Director of Anesthesia at JRCL's facility.

According to the complaint, the agreement stipulated that JRCL could not hire any individuals provided by Apollo during the term of the contract and for one year after its termination.

But on October 30, 2023, Apollo claims JRCL terminated the agreement with Apollo and subsequently retained the services of Lofton on November 3, 2023. Apollo claims this move is causing irreparable harm to its business and is seeking damages and injunctive relief.
