A couple says they were severely injured by a faulty pressure cooker purchased at Aldi.
Jahsheia Gamble and Gregory Alvin Wilson Jr. filed their complaints in federal court against Aldi, the multinational supermarket chain.
In the separate complaints, Gamble and Wilson say the Ambiano 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker exploded during normal use on February 21, 2023, causing serious burn injuries to both of them.
They accuse Aldi of designing, manufacturing, marketing, importing, distributing and selling the faulty product. The complaint also claims the incident occurred due to failure of the pressure cooker's safety features and Aldi's negligence in not redesigning the product despite knowing safer alternatives.
Gamble and Wilson seek compensation for significant bodily injuries, medical expenses, wage loss, physical pain, mental anguish and diminished enjoyment of life caused by Aldi's alleged negligence.
