A Black man has accused Creole Cuisine of creating a hostile work environment and engaging in racial discrimination.

Quincey Celestine filed his complaint in federal court against Hospitality Staffing LLC doing business as Creole Cuisine alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other related statutes.

According to the complaint, Celestine began his employment with Creole Cuisine as a server on June 13, 2022. Despite having no write-ups or suspensions during his tenure, he claims to have been subjected to heightened scrutiny compared to his white colleagues. He further alleges he was terminated for incidents that did not lead to similar actions against white employees.

The plaintiff recounts an incident on July 27, 2022, where he was accused of stealing while getting coffee for customers by a white employee named Christopher Smith. Celestine denied the accusation and continued working. He claims Creole Cuisine failed to provide him with a safe environment due to his race despite multiple complaints about harassment, intimidation, assault, battery and discrimination.
