In the United States District Court, Middle District of Louisiana, a lawsuit has been filed by AmSpec, LLC against Camin Cargo Control, Inc., Craig Rodrigue, Nicholas McClendon, Christian McClendon, Preston Carter, Dylan Frese, Ryan Roussel and Noah Lindstrom. The case ID is 3:24-cv-00304-JWD-RLB and was filed on April 15th, 2024. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants have engaged in predatory tactics and unfair competition to harm AmSpec's business operations in Louisiana.

AmSpec and Camin are direct competitors in the petroleum and petrochemical testing and inspection business. According to the complaint filed by AmSpec's counsel, within a three-month period, Camin has targeted and hired seven key managers and employees from AmSpec’s Louisiana offices. These individuals are alleged to be assisting Camin in furthering its efforts to target AmSpec’s employees and key customers.

The individually-named defendants each have written agreements they executed in connection with their employment with AmSpec which contain certain restrictive covenants including non-competition,' non-solicitation, and non-disclosure provisions. Since leaving his employment with AmSpec to join Camin, Rodrigue has directly targeted and solicited at least two other key managers and employees of AmSpec to leave their employment with AmSpec and join Camin.

AmSpec is seeking enforcement of the non-competition provisions against Carter, Frese and Lindstrom as well as damages for the harm caused to its business operations in Louisiana.
