Michael Hoffman has filed a lawsuit against Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc., Penn Entertainment, Inc., and Kone Inc. in the 14th Judicial District Court of Louisiana (Case ID: 2023-577) on January 27, 2023. The case alleges that the defendants are responsible for injuries sustained by Mr. Hoffman due to a malfunctioning elevator at L'Auberge Casino Resort.

The plaintiff was alone in an elevator at the casino resort when it abruptly descended and stopped without warning, causing him to be thrown about. The incident occurred on January 28, 2022. Represented by John W. Milton and Ryan Elton King from King Milton Law Group, L.L.C., Mr. Hoffman asserts that he sustained serious bodily injuries as a result of this incident.

Defendants Pinnacle and Penn are accused of owning the premises where the defective elevator was installed and operated while Kone is alleged to have owned and managed the faulty elevator. The plaintiff claims that his injuries were caused by Kone's failure to adequately maintain its equipment.

Mr. Hoffman seeks judgment against all defendants for just and equitable relief including damages for personal injury, lost wages, past, present, and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, costs, and other losses to be determined at trial.
