In the 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana, Ronald Burch has filed a lawsuit against Holcim (US) Inc. The case ID is 852570 and was filed on May 7, 2024. Burch alleges that his former employer violated environmental regulations and wrongfully terminated him after he reported these violations.

Burch, represented by attorneys Brian D Katz and Alan F Kansas, claims that while employed as an Area Manager at Holcim's concrete facility in Port Sulphur, Louisiana, he discovered the company was improperly disposing of wastewater. He alleges that this waste was being transported to a treatment facility he managed in Metairie, Louisiana, causing untreated wastewater to be discharged into surrounding waters.

Upon discovering this violation in November 2023, Burch reported it to Holcim's Safety and Environmental Department. Despite confirmation from the department that such actions were not permitted, Burch claims his attempts to stop further dumping were overruled by his General Manager Greg Sessa. Following repeated complaints about these environmental violations, Burch was fired on December 1, 2023.

Burch is seeking judgment against Holcim for loss of wages and benefits, mental anguish, emotional distress, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment of life and other losses. He asserts causes of action for violation of La. R.S. 30:2027 and is seeking treble damages and all damages allowed under the law.
