Carol Ann Hennis has filed a lawsuit against The Kroger Company in the Ninth Judicial District Court of Louisiana, with the court case ID 1:24-cv-00591-TAD-JPM on May 6, 2024. The suit alleges negligence on part of Kroger's employees which led to Ms. Hennis sustaining severe injuries.

The incident occurred on April 9, 2023, at Kroger's grocery store located at 1442 MacArthur Drive in Alexandria, Louisiana. As per the filing, Ms. Hennis was exiting the store when two Kroger employees pushed a train of shopping carts towards her path without checking for pedestrians. In an attempt to avoid collision, Ms. Hennis fell and suffered significant injuries including a fractured wrist and pelvis that required extensive hospitalization.

Ms. Hennis is seeking judgment against The Kroger Company for creating an unreasonably dangerous condition and failing to ensure safety for patrons at its store front. She alleges negligence in hiring and training its employees regarding appropriate procedures for handling carts near pedestrians.
