Attorney General Murrill’s Office arrests former president of parents club in Madisonville for embezzling over $60,000

Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office arrested a Covington woman for allegedly embezzling more than $60,000.

35-year-old Heather Long, of Bryce Drive in Covington, was arrested in Madisonville on Tuesday for violating:

                L.R.S. 14:67 B1 – Theft over $25,000

On March 8, 2024, agents with Attorney General’s Office initiated an investigation after receiving a referral from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office regarding accusations of theft by a former president of the Lake Castle Parents Club in Madisonville.  

The agents’ investigation revealed that between August 2022 and December 2023, Long allegedly embezzled over $60,000 from the Lake Castle Parents Club in Madisonville.

Agents secured an arrest warrant for Long, and she was placed under arrest and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail without incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
